FY24 Title I Parent Engagement Input

ATTENTION TITLE I PARENTS

FY24 Title I Parent and Family Engagement Set-Aside: Input Request

To comply with federal guidelines, districts that receive an allocation of more than $500,000 must reserve at least 1 percent of their total Title I, Part A allocation (plus transfers) to assist schools with parent and family engagement activities. The Douglas County School System pools all of the parent and family engagement allocation for a district level parent and family engagement activity/project. For the FY24 school year, the Douglas County School System would like to use this allocation to continue funding a portion of the salary and benefits for the District Family Engagement Specialist. This will not impact the school’s ability to use their Title I budget to support school level parent engagement activities.

In addition, school districts are required to solicit the input of their parents and families. If you do not agree with this DCSS parent and family engagement activity, please notify the Executive Director of Federal Programs, Dr. Karen Stoutmire at [email protected] or (770) 651-2000 by July 10, 2023 at 12:00PM.
